Just over a year ago, Techaya introduced the MILTECH 9012 Ethernet switch plus router. This unique MIL-STD platform is a fully managed military-grade layer-3 switch with 12 triple speed (10/100/1000) Ethernet ports. It’s a flexible Ethernet switch and router with the smallest weight and form factor available today. The innovative design allows for wire speed traffic switching and routing with low power and real-estate consumption.
Perfect applications for this products include unmanned vehicles, ground vehicles, aircraft, and ground stations that need to connect sensors, computers, video camera or other types of data to one another and then transfer that information back to a central command.
Today, Techaya continues its commitment of supplying innovative, well designed products that provide advanced solutions that can be easily implemented. The new 9012C Ethernet switch + router has taken this to the next level by combing the 12 port L3 switch with an embedded Cisco ESR router. This allows for effortless integration of the device on networks already using Cisco and reduces training and uptime for those personnel using the product that are already familiar with Cisco.
Running the Cisco ESR IOS, the 9012C supports
- Industry standard command line interface (CLI) and management
- IPV6 routing, tunneling, QoS
- Full multicast support
- PPP, 802.1q VLAN and GRE support
- Dynamic routing protocols (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) and
- Built in security protocols (IPsec, SSL/TLS, 3DES, AES, IKE)
Now, here’s the interesting part. The 9012 can also be ordered with an embedded Linux single board computer. This enables developers to run custom 3rd party applications combined with a wire-speed layer-3 Ethernet switch in one small form factor that is MIL-SPEC and COTS compliant. This novel product allows them to combine: mission computer, vehicle management software, robotic controls (ie: JAUS), advanced 3rd party routing solutions, or cross domain software in to a single unit that can be easily mounted in almost any military or aero platform.
The Techaya 9012C weighs only 2kg and has dimensions of 6 17/32x 5 43/64 x 2 43/64. This unique, modular Ethernet switch and router family can easily adapt to meet unique requirement in battlefield, avionics and unmanned vehicle applications. It features mechanical packaging and technological enhancements designed to comply with MIL-STD-810F, MIL-STD-461 & MIL-STD-1275/704A to deliver high reliability in the most extreme environments.
