An 8 Port, MIL-STD, COTS Switch that’s Smaller than a Credit Card?

MILTECH308 8 port Rugged Ethernet Switch, Unmanaged

WLANmall announced today the availability of the Techaya MILTECH 308 ultra-compact Fast Ethernet MIL-STD, COTS switch. With dimensions of 3.2” x 2.5” x 1.0”, it is smaller than a credit card and weighs only 0.31 lbs. With the MILTECH 308, systems that require video, advanced weaponry, radar and communications can all be connected with an Ethernet switch that’s the size of a credit card. No one else in the industry has deliver so much power in performance in such a compact device. Today, Techaya sets new standards in compact, ruggedized Ethernet switches.

The MILTECH 308 MIL-STD, COTS switch is based on technology already deployed in a number of soldier-carry applications, adopted by a number of military organizations across the globe. Late last year, a number of requests came in to Techaya for the MILTECH 308 to support Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAVs) and other constrained airborne and ground vehicle environments where, size, weight and power (SWaP) need to be minimized. The MILTECH 308 is now well suited for AUV and other Avionic applications.

MILTECH 308 MIL-STD, COTS switch is specifically designed for data acquisition & transmission, battlefield communication C4ISR, rugged networks, mobile communications, combat vehicles, avionic & shipboard systems, and MULE & robot applications. The MILTECH 308 features mechanical packaging enhancements designed for MIL-STD-810F airborne and ground environmental compliance and high reliability. The unit has been especially hardened to improve ingress, impact, and shock/vibration protection, as well as eliminate all moving parts through passive cooling, and interface through sealed MIL-SCE circular connectors. The MILTECH 308 consumes only 2W of power and uses 5V power that can be supplied through a USB connection. Leveraging best-in-class switching technology from Techaya, the MILTECH 308 serves as a robust solution for providing local area network (LAN) connectivity to IP-enabled computing and net-centric devices.
